If Only I Could Appreciate the Irony

I never thought this would be me
compulsively taking pregnancy tests
every time I feel sick

so hopeful

things were so much easier when I was younger
and took getting knocked up
for granted, like the first one
was so effortless
in such a wrong time

I never thought I end up like this
shouting for sex when my P.H. levels
were just right for conceiving, checking off
days on the calendar, fingers crossed
praying that we could come together just right
just one more time
